Appointments

Consultations are by appointment and we offer a number of emergency appointments available on the day as well as routine appointments available up to a month ahead. Same day appointments will only be offered to those requiring to be seen on an emergency basis.

Appointments can be made either by telephone, calling in to speak to one of our receptionists or online. You can either book a same day appointment (if available) or go for a pre-bookable appointment and thus book in advance. If you require a same day appointment you will be telephoned back by a nurse practitioner who will triage your problem and, if necessary, book you in to see the most appropriate clinician. This may mean attending the clinic at Blaydon Clinic to see the nurse practitioners there.

We always try to minimise the waiting time for you and, whilst we try to see you at the appointed time, some patients’ appointments may take longer than the time allocated, so please be patient if there is some delay.

We will also try to give you an appointment with the doctor that you prefer, but it may not always be possible. It’s also advisable that you should try to see the same doctor during the course of the same illness.

Please always attend your appointment on time.

For further advice on the appropriate appointment please ask the reception staff.

We offer same day appointments for poorly children under 5 years.  A GP will speak to parent first to assess illness.

Please ask the reception staff for further advice on the appropriate appointment.

Time Keeping

Please always attend your appointment on time and if you are unable to keep your appointment then please remember to call us as soon as possible. By doing this, you will be helping us to make more appointments available for you and other patients.

If you arrive more then 10 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to rearrange your appointment. This is at the doctor’s discretion.
