We’re working with other GP practices across Newcastle and Gateshead on an exciting new project to make our websites better for patients.
By telling us what you think, you can help us build new, modern, engaging websites that are easier to use, and prioritise what is important to you.
We’d like as many patients as possible to be involved. Will you spare 10 minutes to share your thoughts?
Even before COVID, we were all living more and more of our lives online. Being connected to the internet gives us all instant access to a world of information and services.
The NHS is no different – with a wide range of quick, efficient and informative online services. Many people prefer the speed and easy access, but we know for others, finding the information or the right service in the first place can be difficult.
This project is about making it easier for more people to get quicker, better access to their GP and the wider NHS.
As your GP Practice, our website needs to have the features and functions that you want, and be written and styled in a way that you like. That’s why we’re asking for your opinions and ideas.
Take the survey and tell us how you like to use the internet, what websites and apps you like – or don’t – and why. What makes you go back to a site regularly, or what annoys you most? How do you want your GP’s website to sound – friendly or formal? Matter of fact or with a bit of personality?
All of these things will help us develop websites that are suited to your needs and preferences.

Changes to Ordering Prescriptions via Email
We have a new email address to order your prescriptions:
This is a fast an easy way to order medication requests. Alternatively you can order prescription’s by choosing option 2 on our practice phone line or by using online patient access, just contact reception for details.
COVID-19 Vaccination Text Messages
The practice is starting to send out text messages inviting patients to book a COVID vaccine online. Strict numbers of invitations are being sent out, depending on how many vaccines we are expecting. We are inviting our patients in priority order, so it is important that you do not share the link to anyone else. People not registered at the practice and not in the current invitation list will have their appointment cancelled, and will not receive a vaccine even if they turn up at Blaydon.
The booking site will ask you for your name, date of birth, NHS number (or postcode if you don’t know your NHS number), phone number and email. The NHS will never verify your identity by asking for bank details or ask for payment; this vaccine is free and in the UK can only be given by the NHS.
