Carers & Military Veterans

Carers

Do you care for someone who cannot manage on their own because of an illness or frailty or who is suffering from a physical or mental disability, or from substance abuse?

Do you look after a friend or relative with alcohol or substance misuse issues?

If the answer is YES then Gateshead Carers Association can help you cope with the difficult issues encountered in your caring role.

Due to the stigma often attached to those with alcohol or substance misuse issues many carers do not come forward for support. However, it is important to know that help is available for you in Gateshead.

Gateshead Carers are looking for carers of those affected by someone’s alcohol or substance misuse problem to join a peer support group, offering carers’ the opportunity to meet and share experiences with others in a similar situation.

If you are interested in joining this group or would like to find out more about carer support, please contact Gateshead Carers Alcohol & Substance Misuse Carer Support on  0191 4900 121
